Production Scheduler (FT)

Summary
Develop and review production schedules with Master Scheduling and Production Management based on forecasted demand, customer orders, and inventory objectives. Release production work orders for timely communication, and ensure availability of material to meet the production schedule.

Core Responsibilities

  • Review, plan, schedule, and release production orders as approved by Materials Manager, Master Scheduler and Production Manager. Ensure and maintain integrity of the schedule and database.
  • Maintain production schedule by rescheduling work orders as required in agreement with the Production Manager.
  • Interface with Customer Service and Account Management to advise availability and status of product for shipment.
  • Attend Back Log Meeting to communicate product and material availability to support shipping schedules.
  • Manage a daily review of production plans and material shortages to ensure material shortages are identified and addressed. Responsible for managing a Part Shortage Report.
  • Responsible to manage the RMA repair process including process management, status of WIP, capacity planning and monitoring of a visual pull bin system.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Manage and conduct the cycle count process, report on variances and accuracy of inventory. Identify root cause of variances and recommend process improvements.
  • Manage the planning and implementation of ECO's to production establishing material availability, work order planning and minimize scrap.
  • Participation in the development of Back-flushing, repetitive manufacturing and Kan Ban programs.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years work experience in production planning and inventory control.
  • In depth experience utilizing MRP/ERP Systems for scheduling and planning of material requirements.
  • Associates degree in Business, logistics, operations management or related field.
  • Proficient in Windows applications (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Thorough, clear and concise communication skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in Lean MFG and APICS certification is desired

Junior Java/Web Developer (FT)

This is a permanent hire opportunity with our client in the Edina area. In this position you will participate in software development efforts for the critical product application following current J2EE standards and develop software components using primarily technologies such as Java, web services.

We are looking for someone with as many of the following as possible:

  • Proficient in OO Design and Programming
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS
  • Experienced J2EE programmer
  • Experience with BEA WebLogic Application Server is a plus
  • Experience in design and development of standard Java/J2EE Web applications
  • Experience with Struts and Tiles frameworks
  • Experience in developing presentation layers using JSPs, HTML, javascript etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying industry standard Design Patterns for web application development
  • Experience in developing industry standard persistence mechanisms like: EJBs, JDBC, Hibernate, etc.
  • Good understanding of the various stages of an application lifecycle
  • Excellent communication, listening, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Oracle databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ideal but not required qualifications:
  • 3 - 4 years software development experience with web-based solutions
  • 2 + years J2EE experience
  • 3 - 4 years of overall software development experience
Not expected but would be a plus:
  • Spring knowledge and experience
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Experience in using unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Cactus etc.

Software Test Manager (FT)

Summary
This person will be responsible for leading and managing the Verification and Validation Test Team, consisting of 20 - 30 software test engineers and technicians spanning local and remote engineering centers. This group of engineers will be responsible for testing all products developed by the Division, including Device Manager, Handhelds and Web Portal environments..


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
:

- Manage V&V test activities to ensure the following:

  • All products to be released meet the quality standards of the organization
  • Test projects are executed within the budget and schedule constraints of the project. Manage up to 30 employees globally, including multiple overseas managers and up to 10 US employees. Provide personnel / administrative supervision for the engineers and technicians in the US.
- Provide process management / leadership:
  • Lead / participate in the definition, maintenance, and improvement of product development processes.
  • Promote and ensure conformance to the quality system and all applicable product development processes and practices.
  • Participate in compliance audits as required (ISO, customers, etc.)
  • Manage the definition, maintenance, and improvement of test processes and practices in the test group. This includes overseeing the activities of Process Improvement Teams (PIT) in the US and overseas.
- Provide input to product direction for the products being developed by the AO-PAM organization. 

- Managing continuation activities in support of the existing customers

- Participate in compliance audits (QA, ISO, customers)

- Participate in continuous improvement activities

- Travel requirements: minimum (potentially a 1 to 3 times a year)

- Ability to create and deliver clear, concise presentations to subordinates and superiors.

- Ability to delegate work appropriately, especially tasks related to medium to low level technical decisions.

- Ability to resolve conflict in a calm, rationale, and deliberate manner.

- Ability to prioritize workload/task

- Ability to multi-task and be able to prioritize and balance many activities and adjust quickly in a dynamic environment.

- Willingness to work flexible hours that works best with the local and remote engineering center(s).

- Keep skills current with new software development methodologies

-  Excellent communication skills in both oral and written, and with a strong desire to work in a cross-cultural team.

Qualifications
  • BS/MS in Engineering or Computer Science or technical equivalent
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in product development
  • Minimum of 5 years product test experience
  • Experience leading and executing all phases of a structured test process
  • Development and execution of Software Verification Plans (SVPs)
  • Development and execution of test specifications and procedures.
  • Product change control evaluation and management.
  • Experience developing project plans and timely execution of those plans.
  • Experience leading the successful implementation of automated testing.
  • Experience building effective teams and coaching for success.
  • Experience with work breakdown structures, risk analysis, and other project management tools
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
Desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience in the process management industries
  • Experience with Capability Maturity Model for Software (SW-CMM)
  • Experience with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 compliance
  • C++, C#, VB.NET experience
  • Experience with Source Safe or other revision control software
  • Experience with the development of software applications using modern software development techniques, e.g. UML and object oriented development techniques.

Electronics Assembly & Test (FT)

Summary
Perform electronics assembly and test for an implantable medical device system. Work with an internal development team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic circuit assemblies and devices
  • Perform circuit assembly and device level testing
  • Assemble test circuit assemblies and test fixtures
  • Procure and kit electronic components
  • Solder and de-solder through-hole and surface mount components
  • Rework circuit assemblies
  • Operate test equipment
Skills & Knowledge
This position requires medical device assembly and test experience in addition to:
  • Ability to work with surface mount components and tools
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
The following skills are desired, but not necessary:
  • Two year associates degree in Electronics or equivalent
  • Active implantable device test and assembly experience
  • Embedded micro-controller development
  • Familiar with LabView automated test systems
Physical Demands
Job will require mostly working at a bench using hand tools, operating test equipment, and using a computer, keyboard, and mouse.

Some occasional minor lifting (20 lbs or less) when setting up test equipment.
